Silicone is more expensive, and they really only have to the two due to allergies to latex
Silicone will last longer also!
I've been looking for BPA free products and I noticed that many companies make a version of their product in both silicone and latex (such as Gerber nipples & pacifiers.) There doesn't seem to be a price difference so what are the differences/pros and cons of the different materials? Is one better than the other or is it just a matter of preference?

ITs nothing more than the baby’s preference to the nipple. My daughters would not take to the Silicone nipples. They would only take to the latex. No matter how many different shapes and sizes I used they just would not accept a silicone nipple. So yeah I think its nothing more than the baby’s preference…and since playtex seems to be an extremely used bottle and it usually has a latex nipple on them most companies are now making the latex version of the nipples in their brands also.

Its really a matter of preference, mostly the babys. My kids all were picky about their bottle nipples and pacifiers.
