Worked as well as Avent bottles

Review Date: January 3, 2010

I had a collection of Avent bottles and two WIDE mouth (only use the wide mouth kind no matter what brand--much easier to clean and fill) Playtex VentAire bottles. The VentAire bottles worked as well as the Avent bottles. In fact when my son was just home from the hospital the size 1 nipples on the Avent bottles were too fast for him and we used the VentAire bottles for the first three weeks exclusively. If I had it to do again, I could go either way: Avent or VentAire. I have only one VentAire complaint: on one of my VentAire bottles the numbers began to wear off rather quickly. This only happened on one bottle, the second was not impacted. Maybe different lots with different ink???
DON'T BUY THESE BOTTLES

Don't buy these bottles! At first, they're ok but they WILL eventually leak. With my first son, we used the Playtex dropins which worked fine but we didn't like having to continuously spend money on the dropin containers. So we tried the VentAire Advanced. HUGE mistake! My son is 8 months old now and I now buy the cheap Gerber 3-pack bottles and they work fine. At least I know they won't leak.
Works for about a month or so

I bought these bottles and absolutely LOVED them at first. The angle design made it so easy to feed my daughter. But after about a month, the valves started to leak. I would take them out, clean and put them back it but it would keep happening. SOOOO frustrating, especially since I was working hard to pump breast milk and it would end up leaking out all over the place.
Bought Medela bottles as a replacement, which work well, although I miss the angled bottle.
Buy the old type bottoms...

I used the older type ventaire bottles with our first child and did not have a problem with them leaking at all. With our second child we bought the new and improved advanced ventaire bottles. The advanced bottles leaked 80% to 90% of the time. So I purchsed the old stlye bottoms and screwed them on the new bottles and they work perfectly, no leaks. Playtex should strongly think about going back to the old stlye!
Leaked within weeks

We used these bottles for formula and heated the bottles in a bottle warmer. Unfortunately, the majority of the bottles included in the set began to leak from the bottom "air holes" within several weeks. We were very disappointed.
