baby likes it, but I worry...

Review Date: August 21, 2009
Reviewer: Dagny Taggart,
My baby really likes this toy, but I only let her play with it when I am watching because I worry that the little loop off of one of the figures or the ears of another might break off and create a choking hazzard. Sophie (by the same company) is AMAZING so I was expecting another fabulous baby toy, but this fell short.
Cute but not soft

I had hoped the rattle keys were made of the same material the Vulli soft Gnon toys are made of. Instead, these keys are made of a standard hard plastic material. The little key faces are cute, but the little bits on the heads are thin enough that they would abrade my daughter's tender gums when she tried to chew on the keys. So we've taken the toy away until she's older.

The accent color (ie the yellow on the blue face, the blue on the green face, and the yellow on the pink face) is sandwiched between the main color plastic. The area at the top of the face in which the plastic pokes out isn't sealed so when you wash the toy, water gets in a little bit. It's not a big deal, just make sure to shake the keys well when you dry them to get all of the water out.

All in all, it's not a great toy...not a bad toy. I wouldn't recommend them for a teething baby because of the accents on the top of the heads. I highly recommend the SOFT Vulli products though. They're just the right texture and firmness for a teething baby.
